In all the countries of Latin America, apart from Cuba where we are proletarian Bonapartism, in one case after another, democracy has been thrown aside. In Africa also, we see that in every case where imperialism has moved out, we now have one party totalitarian states. The reformists who, yes, they were opposed to independence for the states, look with equanimity to the idea of one party state because they too are uneducated and uncivilized. So long as the mass of the working class is inert, so long as the proletariat there was not prepared to launch onto the road of struggle, then inevitably all these aberrations will take place.
