"It was the most terrified I've been in my entire life, but the aftermath was probably worse," he says. "If there were another way, I would have let it live, but it just didn't give me that option." The bear bit down on his rifle butt for a few seconds before going limp and rolling onto its side to die. He adds: "In that moment it was either it or me, there was no reasoning with it...I think that's what scares me about nature most of all".
