Gail Sayers was a standout football player before he got to the NFL. He signed for $25,000 as a first round draft pick in 1965 and scored 22 touchdowns his rookie year. As a black player in the 1960s, he wasn't always treated the way he should have beentreated. The Chicago Bears gave him a $10,000 raise or bonus after his remarkable rookie year.
