The Importance of Wireframes in a Project

No two projects are the same and it all depends on how are you using the wireframes. Is it like your example there where you were expecting to leave the wireframes and then just leave the client or are you sticking with the client? We're talking about this is a fact for the discussion about return on UX investment. I mean, is it worth your investment of time producing a full suite of detailed wireframes compared to using wireframes as a communication tool when you see the need for it?"
