Are There Alternatives to Exams?

I think that so much of what we do is just because it's efficient. The assessment system essentially fails one in three young people as they leave school. I am 100% behind this as a solution to that issue, slim it down and then diversify the rest. It seems very strange to me coming to this education world from the outside. There'sEverybody seems to be in these binary boxes. So you have to, you're in favor of knowledge or skills or you're a traditionalist or progressive... And actually it feels like we're being forced into these ideological divides which are actually redressing faults.
