How Did J.R. Tolkien's Myth Impact Lewis's View of Pagan Religions?
J.R.R. Tolkien's insight said to Lewis, these pagan myths are anticipations of the Christian gospel. And Lewis began to realize suddenly that actually this meant he could value these and say, see them as stepping stones along the way to Christianity. So it's an enormously important insight because Lewis realized that the great myths he loved in ancient Greece and the Nordic world could be part of his inheritance.
