The Importance of the Electron
Physicists often write down an equation that they can test and measure. But Dirac said the reason why that equation is there is because it reflects a deep mathematical structure in nature. He managed to bring together quantum mechanics of Schrödinger and the relativistic ideas of Einstein. And then he did something even bigger and more important. That equation allowed him to describe the electron.
