"My whole system collapsed to put it simple. I had my whole body simply didn't work for a couple of years," he says. "It was impossible to play chess and everything kind of collapsed." He has been struggling with breathing problems since the age of 40, but they are now under control. The former political scientist wants to keep running his chess school until Magnus' 16th birthday.
