Our brains have evolved not to crave money, because ovese money hasn't been around long enough. On our brains is evolved to crave status. And the interesting thing about status, we human brains are so obsessed with it, we can use basically anything to count for status. The invention of money was a massive accelerator in terms of the way to play status games.
