When she finished her bachelor's, I stuck with this australphile project. We were going to do an entirely specimen based project. But I was interested in systematics and so I kept kind of like pushing it a little bit. And then COVID hit. A couple months before I was going to defend, we still had, you know, in my proposal these specimens. And he's like, I don't think we're going to get these specimens done. Let's do this phylogenetic project for your masters. It twisted 180 degrees, but it has set me on this really cool trajectory. So now I feel much better equipped to do what I'm proposing for my dissertation work
