AI and the Alignment Problem

Timothy Stanley: I want to talk with you about the implications and safety concerns of AI. He says there are at least five assumptions the super AI crowd hold that he can't find any evidence to support in contrary distinction to this orthodoxy. The main concern for him is whether or not powerful technology will be aligned with people's values so it doesn't go wrong accidentally, as we've heard from Elon Musk over the past few months. We'll discuss his new book "The Singularity Is Near" which comes out on September 25th.
