The Benefits of Running Up Pitch Counts

It has been more advantageous for batters to run up pitch counts lately. The difference between being in the highest and lowest quartiles when it comes to running up the pitch counts is 81 points of winning percentage from 2015 to last season. That does suggest that at the margins, there's a bigger effect. Plus, I guess there could be some carryover effect in subsequent games of the series.
