In 1875, Copan Marsh decided to take a break from fieldwork and instead spend time classifying and describing their finds. But after two years of a relative stalemate in the bone wars here in 1877, this came to an end. This changed when Marsh received a letter from a bloke named Arthur Lakes. He had discovered some great big dinosaur bones in the mountains near a town called Morrison. Now, it actually took Marsh hearing about what Coke was up to, hearing that his rival was on the move, Marsh finally got his ass into gear and paid Lakes $100 to keep his finding secret.
