How Long Would It Take a Dropped Feather to Get Back to Earth's Atmosphere?
The farther out an object is, the longer it'll take to get back to earth. Up where our scientific missions fly, up o about 700 kilometers altitude, it's going to take decades for those objects to drag down. And just a little bit higher, where some, we operate a lot of satellites, up at 900 or a thousand kilometers, it can take centuries for things to come back in.
