Atawalpa - The Crusader
When atawalpa captured the city of tume bamba, itis recorded that he put its in bitants to the sword and burned all its houses and temples to the ground. One story even recounts him burying some rebel chieftains. As juan de batanzas recounts, he said that he planted that garden with people of evil hearts. He wished to see if they would produce their evil fruit and works. Some of these spanish sources certainly have incentives to exaggerate the brutality of atawelpa, considering the role they would later play in bringing about his downfall. But i think it's clear that he was at least very ruthless in the prosecution of his campaign.
