Ariane: The German War in World War I

Ariane is Germany's entry for Best Foreign Language Picture at the Oscars. Director Edward Berger himself tried to sort of come out and say, look, I take your criticism but the truth is that not everyone hates it. He had a fairly curt reply to some of his criticisms. Germans are always skeptical of ambition. Whenever you try something a little bit different than the norm, they get worried.
