The Priesthood and Temple Ban in the Church

The 1852 year was the first public articulation by Brigham Young of a priesthood ban on blacks, yet there was no official Church policy established at the time. In fact, there really wasn't anything official in terms of Church policy on the books until 55 years later. So we traced what happened during that 55 year time period that led to the establishment of this policy.
