The Siege of Elasia, Chapter 89
Even though there are reinforcements coming for the gauls, the siege goes very badly for those within. Verson, gerrick again, has to plead with his own side and he gets a council together. So he realizes that they can't win. At least he does go and surrender to caesar. It's a very famous scene where he throws down his arms in front of caesar.
