Etiquette at the very fundamental core is just about being mindful of other people. A common barbecue etiquette crime is rolling up with more people than we're invited. Or there's the sepper variation on the classic things givin crime, which is showing up needing to use the grill. If you want to have that conversation with your host, i think we just don't want to surprise our hosts at the end of the day.
