The Feast of Tabernacles is a commemoration of the 40 years spent in the wilderness living in tents and specifically awaiting for Moses to descend from Mount Sinai with the law. Joseph when he received the plates from her own eye, it was right around this period of time that they were celebrating. The tabernacle symbolizes the presence of God with them. But here he has come in mortality and pitched his tent so to speak with us living among us in a tabernacle of flesh.
