How Tall Was Goliath?
According to the Masoretic text of 1 Samuel Goliath was six cubits and one span. The Septuagint says he was four cubits and a span, which would work out to 78 inches or six feet, six inches tall. Six foot six doesn't sound like a giant today but in ancient Israelite terms such as on a keem and refuge it could mean someone unusually tall because Philistine means "fantastic"
