The Apple 3's Switch Box
The Apple 3 had a pretty complex way of handling memory. For me, this evokes some of the first passes at multitasking. The switch box is a chip that's wired between the 6502B and RAM chips. It intercepts requests from the processor,. grabs the bank value that's set in memory, then decides which bank to expose to the CPU.
