Henry was not condemned by contemporaries for his tactics at Ruan. He emerged from the episode with his reputation higher than ever. Henry went back to France to continue consolidating his position. The Dauphan, who had been dispossessed by the Treaty of Tuah, wasn't going quietly. If he'd lived a couple of months longer, Henry would have been the first king of both England and France. Instead, that accolade passed to his nine-month-old son, King Henry the 6th.
