Steve Close believes that an autonomous weapons arms race is already taking place. Military and economic pressures are driving the rapid development of autonomous systems. In a world ruled by science and technology, it is not necessarily the fittest, but rather the smartest, the survive. The Pentagon decided around 2010 to move toward autonomous systems entirely.
