Why Would Someone Won't Like Me?

As a leader, how important is it to you that you are liked by the people who work with you and around you? I think at the end of the day, as everyone says, it's most important to be respected. So i may not be some one that is liked universally, but i do hope i am someone that people would say was always kind.
