A change of intent can affect a site's visibility in the search engine. For sights that make money off add revenue and npage views, essentially you probably want to find a way to continue to rank. If it's like publishing new types of content to meet gogle's intent a little bit better, you might want to look at that. But for a lot of sight that we work with, when this happens, you have to ask yourself, are we obsessing too much over traffic that doesn't matter for us?
