Amazon Adaptation of Tolkien
John Daniel Davidson: The idea that Amazon is going to do an adaptation of Tolkien in a way that has any fidelity to what Tolkien did in the early 20th century was absurd. He says they've now shown a gaping world that they cannot improve and have not improved on Tolkien's work. Davidson: They're overlaying a kind of like cheap fantasy game of thrones onto something much richer and probably unfilmable.
