New York City's Modern Movie Theater Innovation
The King's Theater in Brooklyn closed in 1977 but then decades later would be lovingly restored the restoration started in 2010 when it reopened in 2015 its 1920s glamour was back and it is now serving as a beautiful performing art space. There are theaters that closed down and then we're actually reopened Greg you mentioned the Waverly Theater before it closed in 2001 but it would reopen four years later in 2005 as the IFC Center which showcases Indian foreign films has festivals and now has five screens. We do have to applaud some modern movie theater innovation that's happened throughout the city that borrows from underground film and midnight film kind of cache including out in Brooklyn one of my favorites down at city point
