The Power of Propaganda

In simple terms propaganda tells you you are right. Sometimes it adds that other people are wrong. Or perhaps it might elevate a relative value into something absolute. It might assign a positive or negative moral value to something without such value. And this isn't always a conscious process either. For example, Concussion which centers on the Nigerian American doctor Bennett Omala and his research on brain damage in American football players. In this film there's a certain sentimentality attached to the fact that he exemplifies American values. Now this is only comprehensible from within a perspective in which being American already bears a kind of positive moral value. So all that to say is a much larger thing.
