Introduction
James Lindsay: The left thinks in a particular way and that way is dialectically. He says when you take two opposing ideas and you raise it up, what you do is you start with the original idea as the status quo of society. And then introduce a new idea that is necessarily to its left. As a result, it always cannibalizes its previous movements - so Marxist theory moves through three distinct phases.
