The first fraternity that is still a fraternity the way that we think about a fraternity was 18 25, a capa alpha society. It was established at union college, which became known as the mother of fraternities because they were all founded there. The term serority was just invented by a professor of latin at syracuse university. So it's been in that for a long time.
