The Importance of Analytical Vision in the Crisis of Liberal Democracy

Our lack of anthropological vision may in some ways explain why it is that Francis Fucqui-Yum was not right that the fall of the burn in Walmart, the end of history. The metaphor I use in the book is that of somebody trying to navigate a dark wood at night with a compass. An economic model can be brilliant, but an economic model by definition relies on your inputs. And there are externalities like the environment or climate change. It's become clear that if you ignore that externality, your economic model could be upended.
