The Amphiboly of the Greek Language
The word aodious is used to refer to an eternal state beyond this world above it, in the sense of in the divine. Scholars for years and historians of early Christianity have been aware that this language is used in a context in which there aren't clear what it means. And then their images of imprisonment and chastisement except that those are explicitly images of that are limited in term - you don't get out until the dead is paid.
