Defensiveness Is a Symptom of an Underlying Disease

The defensiveness also sends an unwelcoming message to everyone else in the room who may want to engage constructively with these. This invokes a kind of version of what's known as the abilene paradox, where nobody wants to be there but everybody did it because they thought everybody wanted to do it and nobody wanted to buck the group here. The whole group wants to engage with this diversity and you're holding us up by objecting don't object your defensiveness is a symptom of you trying to preserve your privilegeyou're the problem we all want to do this. It creates from a critical social justice perspective Defensiveness should be an indicator to us that we are falling
