John waine was a propagandizer for, would you call hima for the united states government and the military. And that was part of his appeal to conservative, white evangelicals. This was the post war baby boom and cold war consensus of 19 fifties. You know, they had billy graham in the white house. Ah, it was really a great time to be a conservative evangelical. They felt that they were kind of retake the culture. Then the 19 sixties happen. You have the civil rights movement, the feminist movement, and particularly the viat namor and the anti war movement.
