If you've tuned into the many episodes I've done focusing on cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death globally, you'll be well aware that APOB is a better biomarker for measuring our risk of having a heart attack or stroke than LDL cholesterol. The only problem is that not every pathology lab is set up to test APOB levels. Unfortunately, this has now been made easier by InsideTracker, a leading health and wellness company founded in 2009 by experts in aging, genetics and biometric data from Harvard, MIT and Tufts that provides lifestyle advice based on your blood test results. With the new addition of APOB, InsideTracker's ultimate plan now analyzes 44 biomarkers, including metabolic health markers like HBO1C, triglycerides and blood glucose, important nutrients like vitamin D and iron, as well as hormones like cortisol, sex hormone binding globulin, free testosterone and total testosterone before giving you evidence-based lifestyle advice to optimize your health. Your data tells the story of your health, with InsideTracker get to know your story and create a lifestyle that delivers better health for longer. Get 20% off the entire InsideTracker store. What about body fat percentage and where that should be or what's healthy, what's realistic? So in this avatar I mentioned there, this idea of quote unquote being toned. I think that's something that many women are aspiring to. What does that actually mean? What is healthy for a 30 year old woman from a body fat percentage and how may that differ to a 30 year

old man? So we look from a healthy range. It depends not only on total body fat, but where it's distributed. So a woman who is 30 might have 25% body fat, but it's all lower body. And that's not as harmful as if she is 25% body fat and it's all in the abdominal region. So we have to look at morphology and where is that being stored. We say that women who are healthy around 30, it's between 22 and 26% body fat is a healthy range. But for men it's between 16 and 20%. So when we start to see things like athletes are like, oh, I dropped down to 12% body fat from my races. It's like, okay, well we know that there's a lot of misstep and you're right on the cusp of being sick because your body percent is a little bit too low. We like to see women periodize their body composition as well start heavier at the beginning of any kind of race season or any kind of competition season so they can afford to lose it as high intensity stress comes on and stay healthy, same with men. But for women we really want to push the issue that you can't stay at one particular number because the body isn't an algorithm. It fluctuates and it's

healthy to do that.
