The Physics of Particle Collisions

When particles get really close together, they interact and that interaction can create new kinds of particles. We think when you get down to the universe at its most basic building block, what you're really doing is annihilation of fundamental objects. Maybe inside of those tiny particles are tiny little strings that do get kind of rearranged like Legos.
