Is There a Fixation of Measurements?
Measurement is having a symbolic representation of something that happens somewhere else. If my couch is 72 inches long, i have assigned the number 72 to mean something about my couch. And if i write down 72 on a piece of paper and take it to the store, so i can buy some pillows or a rug, then that symbolic representation is now affecting other physical things. So this is a very fundamental thing. Measurements don't exist if there's not consciousness. Numbers don't exist. Symbols don't exist; language doesn't exist. But up until recently, this was more like a philosophical tree falling in the forest kind of question. More refined experiments in quanti mechanics are suggesting
