Saul Cripky, the Philosopher Who Revived Metaphysics
saul criky is credited, along with david lewis, as the two figures who revived metaphysics in the second half of the twentieth century through their work on language and its relationship to the concept of a possible world. They were colleagues for many years at princeton, but their intellectual lives crossed quite a bit even before that. You can have bo emerged thinking about possible worlds and counter factules at the same time, but largely and dependently correct, and then you end up being at the same department.
