Why Didn't She Just Wave?

I know people like that. Constantly dwelling over what the woman in HR did or didn't do and how she could have acted differently. Why didn't she just wave? She should have been nicer. If she wanted coffee, she should have asked me for it. At the end of the day, all the thinking and counterfactualizing, I'm not sure if that's a word, but I'm going to go with it. They don't change what happened. And six months later, she's still angry and distressing over this non-event that happened all those months ago.
