Public health officials rely on "observational evidence" to craft dieting dietary guidelines. But that data is extremely weak, it's virtually useless and so this unfortunately means that... Yet it's often regarded as good science by media and by even by a lot of scientists and colleagues. When we know with good evidence, you cannot use observational evidence as the basis for developing diets. Same as true for alcohol.
