Netflix's Ad Supported Tier

Julian Zelizer: It's so counterintuitive to people who are not as familiar with this industry that Netflix actually makes more money per user from the cheaper plan. They don't necessarily want people going to the premium plan anymore, especially right now when we're in a sort of depressed ad rate and CPM environment. He says you will see Netflix get more into comedy, sitcom as much as they can because advertisers like to be on those types of shows. Zelizer: But I do think programming will shift towards more traditional linear but not by episode count.
