The Future of the British Monarchy
Are we moving any closer at all to a kind of Danish or Swedish style monarchy? Because obviously Harry and Meghan have departed, so there are a few people doing the openings and all the routine. Do you see a further cull, if you like, of the active royal family members until it becomes a very close knit circle of a few people rather than the extended family that we still see now? I think a lot of people would quite welcome that. But despite the waning popularity, the opinion polls seem to suggest, I think people are used to a traditional British monarchy,. And they like to see what one Victorian politician described as the gilding for their money.
