Involuntary Holds Are Not a Violation of Rights
The current regime across the United States is that if an individual is an immediate danger to themselves or others, they can be taken into psychiatric care for an evaluation. There are 24 hour holds and 72 hour holds. A hold past the 72 hour mark also requires a judicial proceeding.
