The Effects of Antibodies on Blood Quality
Even with these patients who are getting matched blood primarily from minority red cell donors, that they were still making antibodies to a significant extent. The goal is for most of these patients to maintain their hemoglobin S less than 30%. But for some, it's less than 50%. Those are usually the two numbers that we are making our basically highest hemoglobin S that we want to see prior to transfusion.
