The Pros and Cons of Disk Mirroring
Raid one is disc mirroring so you get fault tolerance and easy recovery. You can read from both drives at the same time but you're cutting down whatever amount of storage you have by half because it's mirrored. When you get into raid 10 it's more expensive because you need more drives to make that work. naz devices almost always have one level of raid going on behind the scenes as they're trying to provide security and redundancy.
