The Fifth Way - The Governance of Things

When we speak about God, we can speak about God acting for an end in a certain sense. But there's a much more fundamental sense in which arriving at that level of perfection or that level of actuality, God simply is the end of all things. And he's acting not to acquire anything but to direct other things to himself. So that's why creatures exist because God loves himself and so whenever God in willing things and doing something, he does it out of his self love.
