The Environmental Effects of Lead
Lead served a very important function at the time. We just didn't have any idea what it was doing otherwise. You can see again, you can measure it that you inhale lead in the atmosphere from the ventral fumes. 90% of it goes into the blood vessels and then an awful lot of it is absorbed into the bone. It's very slowly released over many, many years. The effects of lead, excess lead consumption or ingestion of inhalation in last four decades has been shown to cause heart disease.
