Six Ways to Give to the Poor
Many followers of Jesus set a ceiling on salary, a self-imposed one that adjusted to inflation. If you're raising a family of four in our city on $40,000 a year or whatever, tithing is not easy with cost of living what it is in our city. Most followers of Jesus argue that tithing is like an economic floor to start from as an apprentice of Jesus. Number six, if you already tithe, consider a graduated tithe.
