Still magic allows him to bypass absolutely everything in the game that is balanced by having a time limit on it. I think, i think he did. He was trying to be merciful. The only thing that's really useful in skin magic anyway, is the princes invetability. But how many souls do they collect in the aftermethos of this kije fight?  I'm not sure what level he needs to get to to unlock soul scapism.
